I've created the images in this gallery using my own unique multi-step mixed-media process. For insight into why I created this process, click here. Beginning with my original 35mm photograph, I scan the image to allow for computer manipulation. Untilizing photo-editing software, I adjust various aspects of the image, keeping in mind that the image will go through a rigorous finishing process. As each image is unique, the digital process for each is also just as individualized. Utilizing an inkjet printer, the images are then inked onto heavy, rough watercolor paper where I manipulate the inks utilizing a variety of watercolor techniques. Next, a hand-applied wet process removes the excess ink from the paper and a chemical solution is applied to fix the print as it subtly deteriorates the surface image. Once dry, the latent image within the paper is reclaimed by applying a sealer and UV protectant. The resultant image, though originally just a photograph, is now much more. It's visual. It's tactile. It's multi-dimensional!
